Merkel ISD announces the upcoming election for School Board Trustee Places 5, 6, and 7. We encourage all eligible community members to consider this opportunity for public service.

Candidate Filing Information The period for filing an application for a place on the ballot is:
Start Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
End Date: Friday, February 13, 2026 (by 5:00 PM)

Applications and candidate information packets are available at the Merkel ISD Admin Building located at 314 Manchester.

Voter Information For those planning to vote, please take note of the early voting period:
Early Voting Starts: Monday, April 20, 2026
Early Voting Ends: Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Deadline to register to vote is April 2, 2026.
